Eco Village, Market Harborough

Eco Village in Market Harborough is a haven for those who seek a more sustainable way to live and shop. It was set up by Beth Awdry and Beth Lambert who run Refill Revolution zero-waste shops across the region (Market Harborough, Oundle and Stamford). Together they had a vision to create an outlet for local producers who share their values.

In 2020, Eco Village was born and is now home to numerous independent businesses and there’s a fantastic food offering. The on-site cafe serves up simple, tasty food such as soups, curries, cakes and drinks – the coffee is local of course. You’ll also find lots of street food pop-ups throughout the year, and the courtyard is the perfect place to enjoy something delicious, along with a little live music.

If you’re on the hunt for more ethical milk or milk alternatives, you’ll find them here: Wild & Furrow oat drink is made at a nearby farm; Rutland-based PrOrganics sells its organic milk via a vending machine; Soyu offers soya drink and tofu made in Leicester – and, for something completely different, how about kombucha brewed by The Bearded Persian?

Mistry Kitchen is another resident producing homemade vegan curries to heat up at home and, you’ll also be able to pick up vegetables, eggs and much more in the refill shop.
