Ruddington Butchers

Ruddington Butchers Shop is an offshoot of the popular Elms Farm Butchers & Farm Shop in Costock. The lamb and beef you’ll find at the Ruddington shop is reared at the farm under the careful watch of the Brown family who has been managing farms in the area since the 1700s.

Chris and Jenny Brown who now run the farm are keen that everything is as sustainable as it can be and they have planted 40,000 trees, reinstated hedging that had been eradicated by intensive farming and installed a biomass log boiler that provides the farm with heat and hot water.

Animal husbandry and caring for the countryside really matter to the family and as such, the animals are fed a diet as natural as possible. This gives the meat a real depth of flavour and tenderness.

In addition to lamb and beef from Elms Farm, the butchers also stock local and sustainable meat including pork and chicken. You’ll also find a selection of cheeses, pies, and dairy produce.
