Fables Coffee House is a small independently run business in the heart of Edwinstowe. It’s a lovely addition to a bustling village high street full of independent businesses. Owner and entrepreneur Jess Tandy started her first business at only 17 and Fables is her third venture. This one is definitely thriving as she employs four chefs and often has people queuing to get in on weekends.
Fables first opened in 2018 and had a refurbishment in January 2024 to create a bigger space. It looks fantastic both inside and in their outside courtyard. Fables is open daily from 9am to 4pm, open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. And if you fancy an afternoon tipple, there’s also an extensive cocktail menu with the Fables takes on the classics.
Delicious cocktails aside, the main focus is on tasty cakes, fresh coffee & fresh food sourced locally and cooked from scratch. Kick the day off with a full English breakfast or eggs benedict; roll through brunch with some American pancakes or French toast and get to lunchtime with fish of the day, Fables flatbread or Yorkshire pudding pie! And if you’re still hungry after all of that, the afternoon tea features fresh scones, sourdough sandwiches and a wide range of coffees and teas.
They also bake cakes to order. So if you have a big occasion coming up, it’s worth getting in touch to see what Jess and team can come up with for your special day!
