Fiona Cairns Luxury Cakes

There can be no greater accolade for a cake maker and designer than to be asked to create a cake for a Royal Wedding – and in 2011, Fiona Cairns was invited to create the wedding cake for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

This must have been the cherry on the top for this high-end cake company but that isn’t to say that us mere mortals can’t get a slice of the sweetness. Far from it, in fact. As well a making cakes for the rich and famous, the company make sweet treats for all to enjoy, whatever the occasion, whether it’s a box of six intricately designed cupcakes to send as a birthday surprise (£6.50) or a classic fruit cake (£12) to enjoy at teatime.

Talking of which, the story of this business began with fruit cake – back in 1985 when Fiona and her husband Kishore made mini fruit cakes (baked in baked bean tins) to give as gifts.

Things have certainly moved on since then and this Leicestershire business continues to grow, bringing delicious cakes to the nation – and beyond.
