Lil Bo’s Deli

Lil Bo’s Deli in Ashby is the brainchild of husband and wife Steve and Deborah Evans. It’s named after their children and was described as a ‘dream’ for the family! Deborah is born and raised in Ashby, but former landscaper, Steve, hails from Wales.

They knocked together a former tea room and a dry cleaners to create a wonderful multi-dimensional deli, kitchen, shop and gallery. They sell food and drink from local providers and showcase local artists’ work.

Downstairs is very informal, and they encourage people to drop-in, browse the shelves or have a coffee and relax on a sofa. Upstairs is a restaurant with set-tables, but still pretty casual. And on a warm summer’s day, there are a few tables outside in the wonderful Mill Lane Mews.

They are open for brunches, lunches and sharing platters using local ingredients. The serve great coffee, and great wine! If you’re passing, expect to be tempted by pastries, cheeses or beautiful home-made cakes & macaroons to take away!

Steve and Deborah want this to be more than just a food shop, but actually somewhere for the whole community to come together. When he opened it, Graham Allman, the Mayor of Ashby, described Lil Bo’s as “a bright new star” for the town. Who are we to disagree with the Mayor?
