Renowned chef Mark Poynton opened MJP@ The Shepherds in 2020; it’s a chic but casual restaurant where the focus is always on quality, seasonal dishes and an excellent wine list. All fish, meat and plant-based dishes on the menu can be ordered as small and large plates, so, if you wish you can create your own tasting menu. There’s also the option to have the chef’s tasting menu should you wish to try something new.

To give you a flavour of what’s on offer, there’s Roasted Duck Breast with Chicory, Orange, Pickled Walnut Ketchup; 80-Day Aged Sirloin with Celeriac, Potato Terrine, Pickled Mustard Seed Sauce; Celeriac Spaghetti with Wild Mushrooms Truffle and Cod with Cauliflower, Raisin, Crushed New Potato. For dessert, you might fancy Choux Bun, Craquelin, Yorkshire Rhubarb and White Chocolate or Apricot and Almond Battenberg and Amaretto.

A set lunch is available on Thursday and Friday with roasts every Sunday.
