Ringrose Butchers is a long-established family butcher on Main Street in Broughton Astley, serving the village and wider South Leicestershire community since 1992.
The business was founded by Andy Ringrose, who grew up farming and butchering alongside his father, Alf. Today, several members of the family remain involved, including Andy’s wife Sarah, son Matt and nephew Connor. Traditional skills still play an important role, alongside a modern approach to retail and online ordering.
The counter covers locally sourced beef, pork and lamb wherever possible, alongside British poultry, seasonal game and homemade products. Beef is matured for between 14 and 45 days, while the team also makes its own sausages, pies, cooked meats and other ready-to-eat food. Eggs, cheese and other everyday provisions add to the range.
Ringrose has built an impressive awards record. In 2026 it was named Britain’s Best Butchers Shop at the Meat Management Industry Awards, adding to previous national honours for its sausages, burgers and butchery.
