Three Horseshoes

This large, fascinating and unique pub on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border is a dream find for food-lovers.

The outbuildings are home to chocolate-maker Bittersweet, which holds regular chocolate workshops and enhances the Three Horseshoes excellent menu with award-winning truffles. You won’t find better petit fours anywhere! The Horseshoes also features a farm shop/deli selling wines, cakes, oils and more. Highlights include the Three Horseshoes very own ketchup, superb lime curd and oat crumbles.

Head chef Ian Davison is passionate about good-quality local produce and has recently created a kitchen garden that supplies fresh herbs and vegetables. His style is simple, well-cooked, taste-packed seasonal dishes.

Inside this 250-year-old pub, which began life as a farrier’s business, you’ll find a traditional bar area with quarry-tiled floor and open fire, while next door are beautifully appointed dining areas filled with antique tables and objets d’art.
