Set inside a converted windmill on Scunthorpe’s High Street East, San Pietro is one of North Lincolnshire’s most distinctive places to eat and stay. For more than 20 years, Piero and Michelle have built a strong reputation for refined Sicilian cooking, boutique bedrooms and warm, family-led hospitality. Along the way, the restaurant has earned two AA Rosettes, guidebook recognition, Taste of Lincolnshire & Rutland awards in 2024 and 2025, and Best Restaurant of the Year in Lincolnshire in both 2022 and 2023.
The food is ambitious but rooted in authentic Sicilian flavours, with a clear focus on using the best fresh produce for seasonal menus. The flagship Sicilian Dinner Experience gives the clearest sense of the kitchen’s style and ambition. Dishes may begin with wild sea bass carpaccio with lobster mousse, Sicilian lemon oil and crispy capers, or local pigeon on brioche with blackberry, mirto and foie gras espuma. Later courses could include Sicilian aubergine parmigiana with parmesan cream and trapanese pesto, paccheri with red king prawn, cherry tomato and brown crab espuma, or a duo of lamb with aubergine purée and crispy potato pavé. Desserts are finished with the same care, from a mini gelato cone to Sicilian lemonade parfait with honey and yoghurt sorbet.
