We like to champion the smaller producers – the artisans who do it for love – and that’s exactly what the man best-known as Sourdough Dave does.
Dave Sargent from Matlock has more than 20 years of experience working in top restaurants and his sourdough is beloved by many, so much so, he recently walked off with a top award at the Tiptree World Bread Awards. His delicious Prune & Armagnac loaf (pictured) scooped the ‘Sourdough with Added Ingredients’ trophy – a brilliant achievement considering he only launched his sourdough delivery service in 2022.
Dave bakes every day and offers deliveries from Tuesday to Saturday in the Matlock, Bakewell, South Chesterfield and Baslow areas. There’s no minimum order and there’s all sorts of delicious loaves from white sourdough boules to an apple, maple, raisin and cinnamon sourdough.
