The Cook in the Nook

The Cook in the Nook can be found in the beautiful village of Cosby, Leicestershire and serves wholesome, homemade food with local sourcing at the heart of the ethos. It’s run by Tess and Terry. Tess’s culinary roots are in Zimbabwe and Cape Town, and she later sharpened her craft working at world-renowned Leicestershire baker Fiona Cairns – creator of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Wedding Cake in 2011. Terry has an impressive CV, too. He was head chef at Kew Gardens, and ran the catering operation at Windsor for the 2012 Olympics.

The pair’s commitment to local, sustainable sourcing comes across in everything they offer –milk is produced by Fulmore Farm Dairy one mile away, grains and oats come from Claybrooke Water Mill in Claybrooke Magna, coffee is roasted in Great Glen by St Martin’s Coffee Roasters, and oat milk is produced by Wild & Furrow in Marston Trussell, Market Harborough. Plus there’s bread from Milners Bakery in Blaby, eggs from Kimcote, sauces from Leicestershire’s Preserves by No.14 and sausages from the butcher next door!
