Lazydog Rum Distillery

Matt and Lauren Thompson are the couple behind Lazydog Rum – each bottle is crafted in their small distillery in the Leicestershire countryside and their dog Gino has become the mascot featuring on all bottles of rum. Labelling and sealing is all done by hand so this is quite the labour of love.

There’s currently a handful of different varieties of rum on offer – the Signature Silver Rum is made simply with molasses, water and yeast. It’s super smooth and goes well with pineapple juice if you fancy something different.

​Lazydog Spiced Rum is for those who like a little heat with their rum and is based on the Silver Rum and then blended with Madagascan vanilla, fresh orange peel, cinnamon and cloves. Some rums feature artificial colours and sweeteners but you won’t find any of that here.

One of the most exciting offerings is the Original Sloe Rum – all the sloes are handpicked within two miles of the distillery so you know this is the true taste of Leicestershire countryside and it’s delicious!
