The Bee Farmer
The Bee Farmer aka David McDowell is an advocate for the bees and has just celebrated his tenth anniversary as a professional bee farmer. In his 20s, he undertook a course in beekeeping while living in Didsbury and he continued to keep bees throughout the years at various locations before moving to Leicestershire. In 2013, after being made redundant, David decided to turn his hobby into a business.
His honey is sold throughout the area and the reason it’s so prized is that it’s not only delicious but it tastes exactly as nature intended. This unpasteurised honey comes from hives across the East Midlands and in addition to producing honey, David also runs courses if you’d like to learn more about bees and perhaps it might be the beginning of a new hobby.
