The Fox and Hounds Barley

The Fox & Hounds Barley is a wonderful 17th-century pub lovingly restored in 2018 by old friends Robin and Colin. This is a Grade II listed building and the refurb revived its historic oak beams, original fireplaces, and the signature hanging inn sign dating back to the 1950s. And although this is a very high-quality place, the décor creates a relaxed feel.

Robin and Colin teamed up with head chef and co-owner Brett Barnes and have since created something very special. Brett has worked in top restaurants all over the world and has a refreshingly simple ethos: British seasonal menus, featuring local produce. Think asparagus and Serrano ham in spring, summer vegetable soup, rabbit and bacon pie in the colder months. Simple dishes, prepared with exquisite skill and presentation. Plus there’s a great real ale selection and a beautifully curated wine list to wash the food down.

Excellent food and drink in charming surroundings – definitely recommended!
