Thrussington’s Village Store

1175344_426457314138506_1612983471_n283623_253987491385490_1791751660_nThrussington Village Store is a delightful, friendly deli and tearoom overlooking the village green. Run by husband and wife team Ben and Jo Meacock, it stocks a good range of produce including local (and not so local) cheeses, charcuterie, olives, fresh bread from Hambleton Bakery, pork pies, jams and pickles from Rutland Preserves and more.

The tearoom is an ideal rural venue for meeting friends for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea and children are always welcome (there are lots of toys to play with and books to read, plus high chairs and baby-changing facilities).

Hot and cold food and drinks are available, plus children’s sandwiches and snacks. In spring and summer, the outside seating area with sandpit comes into play.

“We’re very family friendly here,” says Jo. “Muddy boots are always welcome too and there’s no need to leave them at the door. We’re very happy to have dogs in our outdoor areas and water is always provided.”

Thrussington locals are lucky to have this warm slice of rural loveliness and less fortunate villages can only look on with envy.

Gifts and local crafts are also on sale here.

Member offer:

10% discount in the tearoom from Tuesday to Thursday between 9am and 11am. Please show your membership card before paying.

I love this placeAlthough we live 20 miles away we regularly visit this lovely deli and tearoom. The owners Jo and Ben have exquisite taste with their carefully chosen cheeses, meats, breads and other provisions, there’s always something tasty on offer. Their attention to detail is carried through to the lovely cafe area serving homemade cakes and savouries, all made with simple but delicious ingredients. This is definitely the sort of place you can easily wile away some very pleasant time in a pretty little village.

A slice of village life. Oh I just love this little tearoom and deli! It's perfect for popping in to pick up a fresh loaf and some local cheese at weekend and also a regular haunt when meeting friends for a pot of coffee and a slice of homemade cake. Very impressed with the lovely selection of handmade cards and gifts too. A fantastic asset to the village.

What a lovely place for a Birthday brunchJust had a lovely brunch yesterday with friends. Great thing is we were able to have breakfast, soup and a sandwich, ploughman's, all washed down with tea in lovely china cups and saucers. Definitely something for everyone regardless of the time of day.

Fantastic Cafe & DeliYou can't fail to love this shop/cafe/deli! The place is decked out beautifully with great racks of fresh bread and produce. The shop is balanced perfectly with one side for the deli and one for the cafe area. The owners and staff are hugely welcoming and you will always receive great service. Please do make sure you visit - you'll be happy you did.
