Thrussington’s Village Store is a delightful deli and tearoom overlooking the village green. It was named Great Food Club’s Deli of the Year 2020/21.
Run by husband and wife team Ben and Jo Meacock, the village store stocks a great range of local produce including meat from two local butchers, fruit and veg, cheeses, charcuterie, olives, fresh bread from Hambleton Bakery, Clarke’s pork pies, Rutland Chef jams, Two Chimps coffee and much more. During lockdown a delivery service was created so now all shopping can be pre-ordered and delivered to your door.
The tearoom, which also runs regular supper-club nights, is an ideal rural venue for meeting friends for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea and children are always welcome. A takeaway hatch offers a quick-stop option where all food from the tearoom can be ordered to enjoy without sitting inside. Perfect for cyclists and walkers (no mask required!). Afternoon tea is served to eat in and also available beautifully packaged to take away too.
The shop incorporates a large gift and lifestyle area which is perfect for presents and treats. Cards, local gifts, children’s toys and books as well as much more are available.
Thrussington locals are lucky to have this warm slice of rural loveliness and less fortunate villages can only look on with envy.
