An Evening at The Griffin Inn at Swithland

Recently, we had the pleasure of returning to The Griffin Inn in Swithland for an evening meal. Set in the heart of Leicestershire, this pub – run by former England cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney in partnership with Everards – has evolved into a sophisticated dining destination thanks to a recent no-expense-spared refurb.

We chose the flat iron steak. Cooked to perfection at medium-rare, it was juicy and bursting with flavour. The dish was served alongside crispy fries – truffle and Parmesan topping is available – that had a delightful crunch. The addition of a homemade chimichurri sauce provided a zingy kick.

Elegant Dining Room

While the food was very decent (although the prices are quite toppy here), it’s the setting that’s exceptional. The restaurant features a stunning interior that radiates class and elegance. With an inviting open fire, the space feels warm and welcoming, while thoughtful design elements create a sense of spaciousness.

Good service enhances a meal, and on this occasion it matched the quality of the setting and the food. The team were attentive and knowledgeable.

The Overall Experience

Dining out is about more than just excellent food; it’s the combination of great cuisine, a stunning setting, and attentive service. The Griffin at Swithland combines all these elements.
