The King’s Arms, Wing

The King’s Arms in Wing is a 17-century pub situated near Oakham. Head chef James Goss uses local, seasonal ingredients and makes everything in-house, from the tomato sauce up.

He also runs Jimmy’s Smokehouse, where he smokes things like Rutland trout, Hambleton mutton and Grasmere ham.The pub has a homely feel, with stripped-wood tables, exposed flagstones and floorboards and low, beamed ceilings. There’s also an outside seating area and en suite rooms.
