The Architect
The Architect in the north of Cambridge serves up a homage to two of the most iconic pub foods: pie & mash and fish & chips.
The formula is simple. Select your pie, which could be beef shin, shiitake mushroom & Stilton, or perhaps fish topped with aged-Cheddar mash. Next, choose your potato – grain mustard mash or hand-cut chips, for example. Then, decide on your side, which could be green beans with garlic & bacon, or buttered samphire. Lastly, order a sauce, such as red wine & rosemary jus, or white wine, mushroom and tarragon.
If you’re going for fish & chips, you go through a similar ordering process, with several batters, sides and sauces available.
The Architect also offers a good selection of snacks and sharing plates, plus craft beers, real ales and more than 20 gins.
It’s simple, but it works!
