Askers Bakery

Askers Bakery is somewhat of an institution – located in the picture-perfect market town of Stamford. The bakery itself is tucked down King’s Mill Lane; a pretty cobbled road, and the shop can be found on Red Lion Street. Should you pass by, you’ll often find customers queuing on the pavement eager to get their hands on a freshly-baked loaf.

It was established back in the 1920s by Augustus Asker who would deliver bread by bike, and today, the bakery is still in the Asker family who use traditional methods baking in a coal-fired oven. Loaves are supplied to some of the town’s most popular pubs and shops and it’s not all about the bread, you’ll also find delicious cakes, tarts and plenty of seasonal treats.
