Fletchers is a restored former wine merchant’s building on Westgate in Grantham, now run as a food-led pub with open fires, a smart bar and a relaxed dining room. The feel is classic but not fussy, with seasonal British cooking and a drinks list that covers beer, wine and spirits without overcomplicating it.
Menus change regularly and mix snacks and small plates with proper mains. You might start with ham hock terrine and piccalilli or scallops cooked in the shell, then move on to deep fried hake with Koffmann chips, chicken and leek pie with mash and greens or a pork chop with Pomme Anna.
Steak fans can go for rib eye or a tomahawk to share. In warmer months, the courtyard is a good spot for a drink or supper outside.
Walk-ins are welcome and well behaved dogs are welcome too.
