Fika, Stamford

Brother and sister duo Tia and Ivo have added Fika Stamford to its sister café in Oakham. They describe it as a “vibey brunch café” based on the fact that the need for a good brunch was something the siblings could actually agree on!

It’s a charming space with a warm atmosphere, good music and friendly staff, but it’s the excellent brunches you visit for! They have a broad drinks menu of coffees, teas, and smoothies; plus mimosas and prosecco of course. The food options are varied too. Classics like avo with poached egg or cooked breakfast sit alongside shashuka, loaded banana bread or the Fika bowl, containing all kinds of healthy ingredients.

But no visit to Fika is complete without trying one of their famous pastries like almond croissants or cinnamon buns. All freshly baked, all delicious.

The word Fika is Swedish and technically just means coffee break, but culturally it means so much more. It’s the ritual of socialising and relaxing with friends, family, or colleagues. What an appropriate thing to do on Stamford’s picturesque and bustling High Street!
