Jacob Robinson is a Michelin-trained chef, formerly of the much-missed Factory Kitchen in Ilkeston which sadly closed down. Luckily for us, he’s founded his own business with twin brother, Thomas. They’re called The Bah Bah Boys and their food is utterly delicious!
We tried a wholesome and flavourful mezze box which included puy lentils with green olives, French beans, preserved lemon and red onion. Plus, new potatoes with saffron yoghurt, peas, cucumber, soft herbs and spring onions and aubergine fessenjan, pomegranate, hazelnuts and tamarind and Bulgur wheat. This is then sprinkled with za’atar, a Middle Eastern spice blend. There’s so many flavours going on that our taste buds were well and truly delighted! In addition to boxes, there’s also ‘Persian Plates’ with dishes such as Shawarma Spiced Lamb Ribs and Lamb Kofta Wrap.
You’ll find The Bah Bah Boys at venues across the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire area including Bustler Market Nottingham and The Garage at Chilwell. There’s also a local delivery service, popular with office workers – and, for something really special, there’s the Dine at Home offering.
