Between Buns, Royston

Between Buns burger restaurant is the brainchild of George Greaves. It started as a food truck and pop-up, but has now become a bricks-and-mortar restaurant in Royston.

George was inspired by former GFC award-winner Steak & Honour in Cambridge and his food truck would appear in various local pubs. Demand for his burgers was so high, that in May 2025 he was able to open Between Buns in the centre of Royston on Kneesworth Street. Since opening, feedback has been fantastic and we can understand why!

The décor is fun, modern and has a vibe of the Deep South about it with the dark wood and neon. But the beams across the walls and ceiling are as British as it comes!

Pop in at lunchtime for a salt-beef bagel or some hot-wings, or alternatively go straight for the burger menu. Choose from halloumi, buttermilk chicken or smashed beef patties. Whether it’s a southern BBQ flavour you’re looking for or something Asian such as Korean BBQ chicken or Massaman pork shoulder, there’s something for everyone!
