Buckwell Organic is a family-run dairy farm near Lutterworth in South Leicestershire, where the Hunt family has farmed since the 1940s. Today, three generations – David, Marcus and Sam – help run the farm, which specialises in organic raw milk and also produces beef.
Around 100 cows graze pasture rich in grass, wild herbs and flowers. They are milked gently in a robotic parlour, allowing each animal to choose when it is ready. The farm also follows a calf-at-foot approach: calves remain with an adopted mother cow for around four months, giving them time to feed and develop naturally.
The result is fresh, creamy raw milk with a clear sense of place. Buckwell Organic sells it directly from the farm gate and through its online shop, making collection straightforward for local customers. Visitors can also buy beef raised on the farm.
