Coco Tang is a delightful Vietnamese bakery, roastery, café and cocktail bar. A place that would only exist in the middle of a thriving city like Nottingham! It’s split over three floors: restaurant and café on the ground floor, Hong Kong-style speakeasy downstairs plus a roof garden with a 1950s Vietnam feel.
As you walk in, you pass a tempting display of Vietnamese pastries and head to the restaurant and coffee roasting zone. They take coffee seriously here and offer a range of different beans, all roasted in store. Their cakes are baked daily and include amazing delicacies like Japanese roll cake or Malaysian pandan cake.
The restaurant menu includes nourishing bowls of pho, plus a good selection of barbecued meat, seafood, tofu and vegetable dishes. All of the recipes are authentically from Southern Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. Our Leicester Editor Tim Burke visited and enjoyed the BBQ Lemon Chicken which he described as “terrific”!
Coco Tang has a real commitment to supporting underprivileged children in Vietnam. They proudly support the Christina Noble Children Foundation and encourage diners to donate if they can. The walls are adorned with street art by MateTwo who was commissioned to draw attention to the plight of underprivileged children in Vietnam.
This is a wonderful business with a heart, and we wish them every success.
