Stewarts of Trent Bridge are a handful of caffeine-converts, roasting coffee in the heart of Nottingham.
Their story starts with Nottingham coffee visionary Stewart Falconer, who began hand-roasting coffee in the 1980s, well before the word “artisan” was used by all and sundry in the food and drink world. After a few cups of the good stuff during his travels abroad, he made it his mission to ensure high-quality coffee was the norm, not the exception. Stewarts of Trent Bridge are proud to carry on his tradition, and the original roaster he bought for the job all those years ago is still a part of the furniture.
Not much beats the “office job” for the Stewarts team – they work out of an edgy converted fruit-and-veg market in Nottingham’s new place to be, Sneinton Market. They supply top-class restaurants, coffee shops and businesses, and for the home barista offer an ever-changing range of guest roasts via their online Coffee Lounge subscription service.
Next door to the roastery, Stewarts of Trent Bridge showcase their coffee in their own coffee shop, Blend. If you’re in town, follow your nose to great, freshly roasted coffee, and drop in to see them.
