The Rustic Crust
The Rustic Crust of Mansfield cooks a seriously good pizza. From “Poppy”, their oven-equipped Land Rover Defender, they serve lovely Neapolitan-style creations that have been hand-pushed, hand-tossed and wood-fired. The beautiful Goats’ Cheese, Honey & Chilli pizza that we enjoyed at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground is an excellent example of their work. It was so good that we had to add The Rustic Crust to our network of recommended independents.
All pizzas are handmade to order and baked in a custom-built wood-fired oven at around 500°C. With more than 12 years experience, they make fresh, slow-rise dough with the finest imported “00” milled flour. They select other ingredients with great care too, including fresh yeast, sweet San Marzano tomatoes, cows’ milk mozzarella, fresh basil and top-quality extra-virgin olive oil.
The menu includes the classic Margherita, Mushrooms & Garlic, Prosciutto with Garlic & Sweetcorn, Ragu Bolognese, Spicy Italian Sausage and Roast Squash Salsiccia.
