Driver’s Pickles & Vinegars
Pickled onions, pickled eggs, pickled sliced beetroot, pickled gherkins – these are just some of the delicious products made by Driver’s Pickles & Vinegars in Leicester.
The company has a strong pedigree having first started selling pickled onions and malt vinegar in 1902 in the Driver’s family grocery shop in Ibstock. Just four years later, following increased demand, Frederick Charles Driver set the wheels in motion for the business we know today, opening premises in Leicester.
Heritage is important and while the business is now in the capable hands of the fourth generation of the Driver family, many of the products are still made using the same traditions. The family has also has fostered a deep commitment to sustainable practices and as such, use 100% renewable energy with zero carbon emissions. There’s also work on water recycling to ensure that the business remains as environmentally conscious as possible.
