Tucked inside the historic Falcon Hotel, Fern is a seasonal restaurant focusing on small plates, local sourcing and organic wines. Its kitchen is driven by what’s grown or reared nearby – think local asparagus with cashel blue cream and smoked almonds, or Launde lamb saddle with lime, wild garlic, salsa verde and roscoff onions.
The drinks list is just as thoughtful, spotlighting British aperitifs like Vault Aperitivo from Saffron Walden and organic wines including Kentish Albariño and Hedge Line – made in Rutland by Matt Gregory Wines. Indeed, Fern is on a mission to bring back the aperitif, with a cocktail list exclusively featuring British distilleries
Open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday and offering a brilliant Aperitivo Hour from 4.30–5.30pm, Fern has a relaxed, stylish vibe and a quietly confident approach.
Being part of The Falcon, you can book a room and stay the night, too.
