Gates Farm Shop in Cold Overton, Leicestershire, offers excellent-quality produce – sourced locally wherever possible – delivering a true foodie experience.
The butchery, run by award-winning Hambletons, sells locally sourced meat, including beef and lamb from Gates’ own farm in Cold Overton.
Likewise, you can buy organic milk sourced from a local dairy herd that grazes in fields just across from the farm shop. Bring back the glass bottle to refill every time you buy milk.
Gates has a reputation for quality fruit and vegetables, and packaging is at a minimum, with as much loose produce as possible.
There’s also a huge cheese and deli counter; an artisan bakery; loose-fill dry goods dispensers; a confectionery counter; a make-your-own peanut butter station and your orange juice won’t be any fresher than when you squeeze it yourself in-store. In the freezers, there’s a range of loose frozen produce, high-quality ready-meals and exquisite desserts.
Furthermore, you’ll find a strong selection of carefully chosen beers, wines and spirits. Local and small-scale suppliers are well represented, including an outstanding choice of gins.
And with all the usual pantry staples, Gates Farm Shop is a genuine one-stop-shop. It’s next to Gates Garden Centre and has extensive free parking.
