Hive & Honey brings exceptional small plates, global flavours and smart cocktails to Leicester city centre.
A collaboration between the teams behind Dom Restaurant in Thurlaston (a former GFC Awards finalist, now sadly closed) and The Gadabout cocktail bar in Leicester, it occupies the old Ask Italian site right next to St Martin’s Square.
Hive & Honey delivers a buzzy, cosmopolitan vibe – helped by a spacious courtyard and elegant branding. The menu is packed with tempting options, from Mediterranean to Asian and beyond. Dishes include crispy cauliflower with harissa yoghurt and coriander, Thai veg spring rolls with nam jim sauce, and chicken skewers with spicy peanut bang bang sauce and pickled cucumber.
We especially enjoyed the vibrant fennel & orange salad and salt cod pakoras with mint & coriander chutney.
There’s also a bar snacks section featuring dishes like chorizo with honey and red wine chives, and crab croquettes with seaweed mayo. Cocktails are a highlight too, with an imaginative list that reflects the venue’s sense of fun and flair.
