March House Farm Shop

March House Farm Shop is a genuine farm shop situated near the village of Great Dalby in Leicestershire, around five miles from Melton Mowbray. It opened in November 2017 following the success of owners Michael and Heather Belcher’s policy of selling directly to the public at the farm gate and via local markets. Their decision to invest in an impressively large and well-stocked farm shop is great news for the local area.

Pride of place here is the long and eye-catching butchery counter, which sells March House Farm’s home-grown beef, lamb and pork, plus hand-made sausages, home-cured bacon, gammon and ham and cooked meats. Mutton and veal are sold seasonally, as are Christmas turkeys, geese and three-bird roasts. March House Farm has forged a strong reputation locally for its meat, with many good pubs and restaurants sourcing from this Leicestershire producer, including the popular Crafty Burger in Leicester.

March House Farm Shop also stocks a good selection of vegetables and fruit, plus lots of local produce such as Manor Farm Yoghurt and chutneys made in Leicestershire. Customers can buy cheeses, pies, cakes, luxury biscuits and more, too.

  1. Louise says:

Great farm shop, locally situated for me.
The meat is all good quality and fresh, none of it overpriced – in fact, very well priced compared to local supermarkets and butchers, for much better quality.
One of my go to shops for mutton and hoggett.
Their chicken and gravy pies are delicious, as are their sausage rolls.
Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

  2. Glyn Mabey says:

Everything just looks so fresh and high quality. Well worth a visit.

  3. Mrs. S. Driver says:

The produce is great quality with plenty of choice and the service is great. Looking forward to the cafe opening !
