Langton Brewery

Langton Brewery, a family owned independent started life at the back of The Bell Inn, East Langton in 1999. Their original plan was just to make a few beers for the pub and the cricket club, but after their initial successes, they decided to take it more seriously.

They’ve been at Grange Farm in Thorpe Langton since 2005 and have gone from strength to strength. Their first drop, a mid-strength amber ale called Inclined Plane, is still at the heart of their business, but they’ve added a few more lines since then. Thomas Lift is a deep chestnut premium ale, Rainbow Bridge a golden pale, Union Wharf a Citra/Mosaic golden ale and Bullseye is an intensely dark stout.

Their taproom at Grange Farm is a welcoming open space where you can enjoy any of their brews on tap or pick up a few to take away. Their motto is “Born locally, Bred locally, Brewed locally, Langton Brewery is local” and you really feel that as you wander round the taproom and chat to the staff.

You may also notice a beer that isn’t as local as the others though. One recent addition to Langton is the arrival of London craft stalwart Partizan Brewing. After some challenges with soaring costs in London, they decided to move in with Langton. In their words, “a micro-brewery born in London but now based in Leicestershire.”

As many have said, “London’s loss is definitely Leicestershire’s gain!”
