Lavender Bee Tearoom

If you closed your eyes and decided to dream up the most quintessentially English tea room, you would probably be imagining Lavender Bee Tearoom in Weekley, near Kettering. From the white picket fence, to the sixteenth century stone cottage with thatched roof and a bright red post box, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d travelled back in time. As you wander inside, that charm continues with the distinctive peacock wallpaper, paisley tablecloths and china crockery.

But Lavender Bee is so much more than the aesthetic. Owner Beth and her staff are extremely welcoming and the experience is charming from start to finish. This was recognised by the judges of the Good Food Awards who awarded them the Blue Ribbon 2023/24.

Everything on the menu is lovingly prepared in house, with home grown or locally sourced ingredients. There are so many lovely things to try, including cooked breakfasts, homemade quiches or sausage rolls and samosas. But this is definitely the place to come if you have a sweet tooth! Depending on the time of visit, you’ll have the pick of macarons, brownies, tartlets, cakes, fruit pies or crumbles. Alternatively you can book in for a full cream tea of scones, clotted cream and jam. They even produce their own Lavender Bee Tearoom Honey, so don’t leave without picking up a jar or two!

Lavender Bee is open 10:30-3pm Wednesday-Sunday for brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. Beth and the team would be more than happy to accommodate a special occasion so give them a call to discuss requirements.
