New Lodge Farm

New Lodge Farm in Bulwick has been in the Singlehurst family for more than 100 years. Today, it’s home to a shop selling beef, lamb and eggs from the farm, plus mouthwatering items from other local suppliers.

“We stock food and drink made by producers who share our philosophy around sustainable agriculture,” says Sarah Singlehurst, who runs New Lodge Farm with her husband Simon. They couple have literally written their ethos on the wall in big letters: “There are few problems that cannot be solved by thinking local, seasonal and outdoors.” Reflecting that, you’ll fi nd everything local and seasonal that you need New Lodge Farm for your larder, including homemade pies, a super array of fruit and veg, locally produced cheeses, bread, cakes, wine and preserves.

The cafe is equally locally focused. On our visit, we enjoyed a delicious roast followed by a crumble made with apples from the New Lodge orchard.
