Redbournbury Mill

A little lane off the Redbourn Road takes you down to Redbournbury Mill Bakery and Café. It’s a beautiful spot, set within a beautifully restored 11th-century watermill on the River Ver.

The bakery, established in July 2006 inside a converted barn, is overseen by Master Baker Steven Mansbridge. There is a broad range of handcrafted loaves including classic white, wholemeal, malted and rye; plus artisan breads such as sea-salt focaccia, date & walnut, pumpkin and fruit. They all use  organic stoneground flour milled on-site from local grain grown just two miles away. “From Crop to Crust”!

They are available on Saturdays and Sundays on site, or in local farmers markets. Plus you’ll find the Redbournbury Mill Flour in plenty of delis and farm shops locally too.

Though it’s more a takeaway stall than full café, there’s a charming picnic area outside to enjoy a scone or tea cake whilst relaxing in idyllic surroundings.
