Matty’s Kitchen was founded by Matty Caplin in the first lockdown in 2020. It started in his home in Bushey but in 2022 he was ready to take the plunge and open up the shop on Bushey High Street.
All of Matty’s products are freshly made in house, using the highest quality ingredients. They sell a wide variety of breads from sourdough to challah as well as cakes, sweet treats and hot drinks. There is also a savoury menu including grilled cheese toasties, filled bagels, salads and soups.
We were advised that the signature dish is the bread and butter pudding, and couldn’t resist trying it. Honestly it was out of this world.
Matty’s is a busy, vibrant place with loyal customers so get there early to grab a table. Even Ella Henderson popped in once and performed a couple of songs! Definitely worth a visit: excellent coffee, lovely breads and a welcoming atmosphere!
