Stoughton Grange Farm Shop & Distillery near Oadby, is one of Leicestershire’s most exciting new food and drink projects. Bill Allingham (pictured) has run pubs in Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Rutland and brewed beer under his Steamin’ Billy brand for over 25 years. Now he and his team are putting their force behind Stoughton Grange.
Stoughton Grange is a farm shop, cafe, farm park, kitchen garden, gin distillery and beautiful old pub – The Cow and Plough – Steamin Billy. It’s also home to other independent businesses such as Nature’s Play and Build Green.
The impressive new farm shop, housed in the old milking parlour, sells produce grown in the kitchen garden, plus homemade pies, locally-sourced meat (Fosse Meadows chicken and Launde Farm lamb), Hambleton Bakery bread and more.
The Cow & Plough next door to the shop and cafe is a cracking pub with plenty of character serving hearty pub classics and locally brewed beer.
Stoughton Grange Park (the house was demolished in the 1920s) sits in 30 acres of park and woodland. Over the coming months, Bill and the team will develop the grounds so customers can enjoy the natural surroundings, go on woodland walks and eat picnics by the lake.
