The Britannia Inn has served the villagers of Queniborough for hundreds of years, and has been an important community hub. After a recent refurbishment under the leadership of Kam Chaggar, it has returned to its former glory.
For years, The Britannia has been known locally as ‘Stubbies’, after a previous owner, but despite the refurb, the nickname remains. The décor is wonderfully traditional, from the pictures on the wall, the wooden furniture and the beams over the bar. It feels like a proper pub, where everyone is made to feel welcome.
But these days The Britannia is more than just a local village boozer, it’s now a charming country pub with excellent cask ales, and a well-crafted menu. The Britannia caters for most tastes, from pub classics like burgers or fish & chips; through to dishes with South Asian heritage such as smoked lamb chilli or aubergine bhajis. There are regular updates to the menu including pie or curry of the day. And on Sunday, there are epic roasts too.
Plus with curry nights, live music, quiz & pie evenings or a long summer evening on the terrace, there are many reasons to visit The Britannia!
