Housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century Grade II-listed former pub, The Chubby Castor is the flagship of the Heritage Social Group and a fine-dining destination of distinction. Chef Patron Adebola Adeshina brings with him a wealth of experience from some of London’s best kitchens. His cooking here is precise, elegant and always ingredient-led.
Sustainability and provenance are central to the experience. Seasonal produce comes from trusted local suppliers and, increasingly, from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden. This garden, in its fourth year, provides a wealth of fresh vegetables and herbs picked moments before service.
Dishes are modern British in style and packed with flavour. Recent highlights included mackerel escabeche with aubergine caviar, and hake with braised fennel, curried shrimps and cauliflower purée. The attention to detail continues through to desserts such as burnt custard with orange cake and spiced oranges. With three AA Rosettes, plus recognition from the Michelin Guide, this is destination dining — refined and grounded in a respect for ingredients and the art of cooking.
