Step inside The Coffee Obsessive in Stoneygate, Leicester, and you’ll find more than just a great cup of coffee – you’ll discover a space where world-class brews meet passion, education and community. Founded by Iqbal Mahomed in 2019 after years immersed in Australia and London’s coffee scenes, this independent café is a temple to all things coffee.
“We don’t serve to give you what you want – we show you what you should be having,” says Iqbal. “We want to blow you away with something you’ve never experienced before.”
Showcasing beans from Europe’s best roasters – DAK, Friedhats, People Possession and more – The Coffee Obsessive offers an ever-evolving lineup of filter and espresso options. “We taste and taste again until it’s delicious,” Iqbal says.
Alongside its top-tier coffee menu is a curated food offering inspired by global street food, and a unique cold drinks fridge “like no other in Leicester”.
The upstairs co-working space is beautifully designed with birch plywood, greenery and natural light. Events, courses and collaborations are part of the journey too.
“Our mission has only just begun,” says Iqbal. “We are obsessed – so you don’t have to be.”
