The Deli @ Castle Ashby

The Deli @ Castle Ashby is a family run delicatessen and eatery situated at the rural shopping yard at Castle Ashby. It’s a charming spot surrounded by furniture shops, gifts and clothing boutiques and beautiful gardens.

The deli is a good sized space containing an excellent cheese counter, featuring local and European cheeses. There are also handmade chocolates, homemade sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs, Tinkture Cocktails and much more.

The relaxed and cosy eatery is a great place to while away an afternoon with friends or rest the legs after a country walk. Open every day except Mondays, the eatery offers breakfasts, sandwiches or light lunches incorporating locally sourced ingredients. Brunches include classics such as a full cooked breakfast, with bacon from Oakleys in Bedfordshire and sausages from Farmer Lou in Rutland. You could also try the Shakshuka or some brioche French toast.

For lunch, graze on Mediterranean tapas options such as charcuterie, padron peppers, chorizo or a cheese board or fill up on a sandwich, croque monsieur or a mini ploughman’s. There is also a decent list of organic or biodynamic wine served by the glass, bottle or even carafe!
