Karmana is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the effort to find. Friendly staff greeted us on arrival and we were immediately drawn in by the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.
The menu is 100% plant-based, reflecting Karmana’s deep-rooted ethos of sustainable and compassionate living. They made the final transition just before the pandemic, removing the last of their dairy options to become fully vegan – even down to the milk in your tea or coffee.
All food is cooked to order, so it can take a little while to arrive – but that’s part of the charm. This is a place that encourages you to unwind. Sit back with a drink, enjoy the ambient lighting, exotic background music and calming energy, and wait for your food with anticipation. While you wait, try one of the house juices – we loved ‘Shine On’, a zingy blend of carrot, apple, ginger and turmeric.
We had the falafel mezze – a Moroccan-inspired plate with falafel, warm breads, salads and a standout lemon hummus that’s among the best we’ve tasted. Karmana is a past finalist in the Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards and it’s easy to see why.
Music and the arts are part of Karmana’s soul. On the first Thursday of every month, they host a Music Jam Night – an open, inclusive event that supports and showcases local musicians and performers.
Karmana is a creative, thoughtful space where great food and community come together.
