The Fleetville Larder

Ed Bevin used to be one of the many St Albans residents commuting into central London daily to work in an office. A lover of great coffee and excellent cheese, he got frustrated that neither of his loves were well served locally. So he decided to take matters into his own hands and opened The Fleetville Larder. Not only is this the premier place in the Fleetville area to buy a great range of cheeses and other deli products, it’s also a relaxed venue to enjoy a coffee or a light lunch too.

Cheese-fans from across the area regularly flock to the Larder to see what Ed has in stock. There is a regularly changing counter full of artisan British and European cheeses. Ed and his staff are more than happy to advise on their range, combine a few onto a platter, or simply let you have a bite to try before you buy.

As well as the platters, there are filled baguettes, toasted bagels and of course their signature range of toasties. All are made from freshly baked sourdough bread, and combine great cheeses with fillings such as salami, chorizo or tuna and chilli.

But there are plenty of deli options on the shelves too. Local beers from Mad Squirrel and Three Brewers; plus wines and spirits too. Plus there are preserves, chutneys, crackers and sweet goods on the shelves as well. It’s always tough to leave without a few goodies in your bag!

Plus Ed and team have now launched a cheese club for the local area. St Albans subscribers can now have new cheeses delivered to their doors on a monthly basis.
