The Gate Inn Tansley
The Gate Inn is a fantastic pub tucked away in the pretty Derbyshire village of Tansley. It’s a fixture of village life while enticing diners from further afield with its delicious food offering.
It’s been owned by James Neville and Alan Baranowski since 2013 and is managed by executive chef Tim Mosely. Together, they’ve developed the venue into a popular and vibrant eatery. The interior is spacious and stylish; contemporary design mixed with natural wood, custom-designed wallpaper and rustic touches.
We visited as a large group and ordered the Sunday roasts, which arrived quickly and looked delicious. We were delighted by the generous portions of beef, pork and nut roast, perfectly crispy potatoes, super-smooth mash, tasty stuffing and delicious accompanying seasonal veg. Pizzas are stonebaked and come recommended, too. We ordered a number of desserts to finish – the chocolate and almond butter peanut slice was the perfect sweet ending.
This is a family-friendly pub where children – and fur babies – are positively welcomed.
