The Palmichael

If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine in Northamptonshire, head to The Palmichael – a stylish restaurant and bar run by the Palmiero family since 1981. Michael Palmiero has worked as a private chef in the Mediterranean and numerous hotels and now heads up the kitchen at The Palmichael. Maria, his sister, runs front-of-house and offers the warmest of Italian welcomes!

The business recently expanded upstairs to create a relaxed bar and dining area, perfect for pre-dinner drinks and cocktails.

As you’d expect, excellent pasta and risotto feature on the menu (the homemade lasagne is a highlight). On our visit, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked cod loin on shredded greens in a luxurious Chardonnay sauce followed by the creme brûlée of the day (passion fruit). As well as an extensive a la carte menu, The Palmichael also offers an excellent value two-course at lunch and dinner for (at the time of writing) £14.

The kitchen makes the best use of seasonal produce alongside (when in season) home-grown fresh herbs, zucchini, wild strawberries, raspberries and fresh figs from their kitchen-garden.

The restaurant has been a worthy recipient of several local food awards over the past few years and enjoys a loyal following. It is currently offering takeaways for collection.
