The Two Brewers in Northaw is a very welcome addition to the Hertfordshire food scene. Tom Arnold, who also runs the Burleigh Arms in Cambridge, has taken it over with the intent of creating a high quality pub experience.
Tom has big ambitions for the Two Brewers, and he has the track record to back that up! The Burleigh Arms made it into the Estrella Damm top 100 Gastropubs in its first year. And with highly acclaimed head chef Paul Cooke running the kitchen, we only expect great things from Two Brewers too.
There is a bar menu featuring simple, but beautiful dishes such as parmesan croquets, chicken liver parfait, smoked haddock doughnuts and of course a burger and fish & chips. There’s a Sunday roasts too including beef, chicken or even celeriac velouté. But ask for the a la carte menu and you’ll be presented with amazing starters such as beetroot mille-feuille with blood orange, labneh & soft herbs; or tuna ceviche with passionfruit, jalapeño, spring onions & smoked miso cream. Main courses include halibut with chicken butter sauce; Dingley Dell pork with maitake and black garlic & apple pumpkin raviolo. And if you have a sweet tooth, you won’t be disappointed, far from it.
This is a wonderful new venture and is already proving a big hit with the villagers and those from the surrounding areas. So much more to come from this team – so watch this space!
