The White Hart Hotel, Lincoln

After a 2024 restoration, The White Hart Hotel in Lincoln has become a fantastic place to stay and eat. It’s stylish, sophisticated and elegantly decorated, but the staff are friendly and attentive and couldn’t be more welcoming.

Situated on the bustling Bailgate, it’s located between the Cathedral and Castle, both dating back to the 11th century. The hotel is a young whipper snapper by comparison, only dating back the 14th century!

There are two bars in The White Hart. Firstly, the Gibson Club Bar which is cosy and elegant, the perfect spot to enjoy a G&T or a glass of wine. Alternatively, the Colonnade Cocktail Lounge opens up for coffee in the morning, small plate snacks at lunchtime and indulgent cocktails when the sun goes down.

The main restaurant at The White Hart is Antlers Restaurant. The chefs Matt Porada and Thadi Crook create menus featuring seasonal Lincolnshire produce. They’re open for hearty breakfasts such as eggs benedict, smoked salmon or even a full English. Lunches feature soups, simple starters, salads or pasta dishes. And at dinner time you can choose from old favourites such as burger, fish and chips or Caesar salad; to the more adventurous like pan seared turbot or masala roast carrot.

And if you’re too tired to move after all that, there are a number of stylish bedrooms to sleep in, from cosy doubles to spacious four poster suites.

If you’re planning a weekend break in historic Lincoln, The White Hart is well worth a visit!
