45 West launches regular distillery tours

Leading light of the craft-gin revival, 45 West of Leicestershire, is well known for its Gin School Experience (10% off for GFC members). It now hosts regular distillery tours, too. The 90-minute events give juniper fans a chance to hear distiller Liam Armstrong explain how he crafts the three main expressions of the company’s Burleighs Gin – including the sage and nutmeg-infused Leicester Dry Gin, which pays homage to local food traditions and to the glorious success of the city’s football team.

Distillery tour guests get to see how 45 West’s shiny bronze still “Messy Bessy” is fired up with base spirit and botanicals to produce 600 bottles each run, and how the product is perfected, bottled and despatched. And, of course, you’ll be greeted with a G&T and have the chance to try all three gins. Tours take place at the distillery located near Nanpantan in the Charnwood Forest on selected Wednesdays, costing £20 and including a £5 discount voucher on purchases. You can book here.
