Bakery of the Year: Great Food Club Awards 2020/21

Winner

The Bakehouse, Sherwood, Nottingham

Finalists

Beauvale Priory Bakehouse, Moorgreen, Nottinghamshire
Bisbrooke Artisans, Bisbrooke, Rutland
Lily & Honey, Oakham, Rutland

The winner is The Bakehouse in Sherwood – not only for its impressively broad range of excellent-quality breads, cakes, pasties and sourdoughs, but also for its dynamic industriousness.

Walk into The Bakehouse and you’ll find an alluring display of baked goods – soda breads, brownies, baguettes, pretzels, sausage rolls, muffins, seasonal specials… you name it, it’s here. All are baked on the premises with love and care. A bakery-deli-café combined, you can also buy great coffee, craft beers, sandwiches, preserves, flour, sauces and more.

A hive of activity, The Bakehouse – which also has a wholesale operation and stands at local markets – is open from Tuesday to Sunday. And the team put on regular themed events such as Pie Nights and Pizza Nights, too.

No wonder The Bakehouse has so many loyal fans in Nottingham. And no wonder it’s Great Food Club’s Bakery of the Year 2020/21 – despite being up against a brilliant array of Finalists.
